Bus News: TRUBUS included in Scania's Expo release line-up

Four days before the Australasia Bus & Coach Expo opened, Australasian Bus and Coach previewed what Scania Australia would be bringing to Sydney. Writing for the publication, Sean Mortell reported a stand led by new product: the Super 13 six-cylinder engine paired with a 14-speed Opticruise gearbox and new axles, and a fully electric city route bus drawn from a large South Australian government order.

Scania's head of bus, coach and power solutions, Niklas Walter, confirmed in the article that the stand would also host the AutoBus Australia TRUBUS, describing the 4x4 high-capacity vehicle as built on a Scania truck chassis and complete with "a fully integrated bodyshell".

That confirmation is worth more than it first appears. It came from Scania, in a pre-show preview, with TRUBUS named alongside the brand's flagship engine launch. Operators reading it on 12 July walked into Sydney Olympic Park already knowing to look for the vehicle.
